Future Stars STEM Camps aim to engage campers entering ages 7-14, in a series of innovative fields not seen in traditional school education in a fun, hands-on camp environment.
• Our mission is to prepare students for the global economy by providing programs focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
• Our inquiry based Programs are designed to be an Exciting, Fun, Hands-on, experience with STEM related projects.
• We offer Curriculum correlating to the following National Standards: Science (NSES), Technology and Engineering (ITEEA), and Mathematics (NCTM).
Each program strives to foster campers’ interest in the subject area through various projects and activities. Campers build skills as well as incorporating additional expected student outcomes such as problem solving, teamwork and design process(es). Campers will participate in fun, hands-on activities and projects aiming to educate and inspire campers outside of the school year.
In partnership with Engineering for Kids, Future Stars campers will participate in fun and hands-on activities.
Aerospace Engineering (Rockets & More):
The curriculum for the Aerospace Engineering program is designed to introduce students to the concepts of aerodynamics, propulsion, structural design, and flight through a series of activities that explore different types of aircrafts. Students will design their own rockets, learn about the importance of weight distribution in aircraft design, construct a functional parachute, and make model helicopters.
In Medieval Mayhem, campers will explore Civil and Mechanical Engineering. They will build infrastructure for their lands including bridges and towers, construct catapults to lay siege to others, and take part in jousting games.
In addition to a hands on learning curriculum campers will be able to have a well rounded day staying active in and out of the classroom. Their day will include a recreational swim period where campers are encouraged to get out of the sun and have some fun in our indoor pool. The day also consists of a period of time where campers can stretch their legs and play recreational games such as gaga, kickball, etc. This makes for a fun day of learning and enjoying summer fun!
