The Future Stars Tennis Camp is designed to challenge players of all levels and ages, ages 6-15. Throughout the week campers will be encouraged to enhance their strokes and strategies via group lessons, skill building drills, organized play, individual attention, video sessions, target training, fitness routines and more. All campers are carefully grouped by the tennis director based on skill level and age. Through low camper to coach ratios, varied on and off court activities, and the finest pro staff, campers will not only come away as better players, but will develop a greater love and appreciation for the “sport of a lifetime” while also making lifelong friends.

Director: Glenn Nathan
Coach Glenn Nathan has been coaching at St. Joseph’s College since 2003. Helping to grow the women’s tennis program and transform the men’s tennis program into one of the top on Long Island. Nathan is the first coach in SJC history to guide his teams to three consecutive NCAA tournament bids in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and the second coach in SJC history to win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Nathan is a three-time Skyline Conference Coach of the Year.
Before arriving at St. Joseph’s College, Glenn was the head coach of the women’s tennis program at Southampton College. He was also a men's and women's assistant coach for Old Westbury. During his time at Old Westbury, his team won the Hudson Valley Conference Championship in 2000.
Aside from leading the SJC tennis program, Glenn is a local tennis pro, and a board and staff member for The Bayport Blue Point Community Tennis Association. In the past, Coach Nathan was an assistant tennis pro at Miller Place Racquet Club, an associate instructor for Adelphi University tennis programs, head junior development summer program pro at Casino Country Club in Garden City and an assistant tennis pro at Old Westbury Country Club.
While not on the court, he is a National Board member for the American Association of Kidney Patients. He works full-time as a territory sales rep For Silver Line Windows by Andersen. Nathan holds his associates degree from Suffolk Community College where he played tennis and was part of the first team at SCCC to go to the New York State Championship. Coach continued his education at Adelphi University, where he was awarded a partial scholarship as a walk-on to play tennis and earned his bachelor of science in physical education.
Glenn and his wife Denise currently reside in Shirley. He is the proud father of three daughters.
Camps and Programs
Future Stars Summer Camps at St. Joseph's College offers premier programs. Summer 2018 will offer a variety of program options for campers from Kindergarten to 16 years old.
Sports camp programs include: Tennis, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, Flag Football, Multi-Sports, Softball, Field Hockey, Cheerleading and Volleyball. Specialty camp programs include: Magic and Dance. S.T.E.A.M Education programs include; FS Engineering & Design, Draw & Paint, Mega Bits-Coding Concepts, Tera Bits-App/Video Game Design, 3D Building w/ Minecraft and Robotics. Our Rising Stars program is a specialty program for younger campers ages 2.5-5.
About the Facility
St. Joseph's College on Long Island located in Patchogue at 155 West Roe Boulevard is spread over a 30-acre lakeside campus comfortably located on the South Shore of Easter Long Island.
The John A. Danzi Athletic Center contains a number of outstanding features for camp use including: 25-yard heated swimming pool, strength training room, aerobics/dance room, basketball courts, volleyball courts, elevated track (1/12 mile), state-of-the-art fitness room, men’s and women’s locker rooms and lavatories.
The new 25-acre outdoor field complex will be the focal point for many of our sport specific programs. The Danzi Stadium Includes a 400-meter all-weather track (six-lane turns, eight-lane straights), long jump pits, high jump and pole vault areas, synthetic turf field for soccer and lacrosse and a grandstand. Gregg Alfano Field features a synthetic turf infield, clay pitcher’s mound, natural grass outfield that reaches 403 feet in center field, bleachers and dugouts. The Softball Stadium Includes a clay infield, a natural grass outfield that reaches 210 feet to dead center and dugouts. The facility also includes six new Deco Turf tennis courts.
Future Stars Summer Camp programs have exclusive use of the athletic facilities on campus during the summer. Campers have the option for the camp lunch which is a full buffet in the campus dining hall and includes a variety of daily hot and cold healthy choices. For those children that choose to bring their own lunch, the lunches will be refrigerated and delivered to the campers at lunch time. All campers have the option for a daily recreational swim period under the supervision of our certified water safety instructors and lifeguards (please note that Little Stars campers have instructional swim).
John Mees has been chosen as the new Future Stars Site Director for St Joe’s. He has uniquely qualified himself after serving as director of our sports camp package in Southampton for 10 years. During his tenure in Southampton, John designed the curriculum and organized the staff for a site that hosted as many as 300 campers a day. Prior to joining Future Stars, John served as a tennis camp director.
John received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill, and went on to earn master’s degrees from both the University of Connecticut and Stony Brook University. Currently, John serves as Spanish teacher at Mount Sinai High School, where he coaches both golf and basketball. John currently lives in Sayville with his wife.
Dates and Rates
Summer 2018 programs will run from June 25th to August 17th. Flexible weekly scheduling is available. Each camp week is Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Pricing is time sensitive as outlined below.
